The Commissioning of Ros Robinson as a Lay Preacher

Having completed her course of studies and practical assignments Ros Robinson was Commissioned as a Lay Preacher of the Uniting Church in Australia.

Ros, like many other Lay Preachers, spent several years in a number of different churches completing the requirements to qualify as a Lay Preacher. The studies included studying and being examined on the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testaments), Homiletics, Christology and leading worship under the guidance and coaching of a number of people in a number of Uniting Churches including Crookwell, Harden, Temora and Cootamundra.

The Commissioning service took place in Cootamundra Uniting Church on Sunday the 15th December 2019. The Worship Leader that day was her husband Rev Keith Robinson. The Chair of Presbytery Sheila Ayliff presided at the Commissioning aided by Janet Elliot the Chair of Riverina Presbytery’s Pastoral Relations Committee.

As well as the local congregation at the service there were a number of people present from other churches within the Riverina Presbytery.

Following the service there was the usual Çuppa and a chat in Dickson Hall followed by our Church Christmas Lunch at Stockinbingal Bowling club.
