Southern Newell Congregation is Lay led
The Southern Newell Congregation (Tocumwal and Finley) has two UCA Accredited Lay Preachers / Lay Presiders (Funerals, Baptism and Communion, according to the rites of the Uniting Church in Australia .) Myra Cowell and Wendy Frazier, Myra is also licensed by the Uniting Church in Australia to officiate at weddings.
Living our Christian lives in the small things of everyday life sharing together and caring for one another and the wider community regardless of anything that might otherwise divide.

Tocumwal Uniting Church worship centre
The Tocumwal community is a small yet faithful group of people who support each other and their community. Tocumwal, set on the banks of the Murray river often will have travelers visit, the Sunday worship service is followed by morning tea each Sunday. The Tocumwal church is gas heated with comfortable arm chairs in it’s historic little building.

Finley Uniting Church
Finley Worship Centre worship services are welcoming and inclusive with modern & traditional aspects to the services. During the winter months services are less formal and are held in our well heated hall. Special services are held from time to time for prayer, thanksgiving and celebration.
A busy place made up of people of varied gifts and graces sharing with each other through prayer, fellowship and worship. Encouraging new people to worship with us through our many activities.
The Finley Worship Centre seeks to have a positive impact on the community of Finley and district as a place of fellowship and compassion through all our activities with the Finley community.

Some of our activities include
Worship each week at 11 am each Sunday
Beehive group on a Tuesday afternoon every week, have been going for 22 years. People come together with their own craft project and sharing ideas with each other.
Wednesday morning is prayer and Bible study in homes.
Monthly fourth Thursday afternoon is Adult Fellowship this group, which is very active in the congregation and helps provide extra funds from time to time.
Friendship Morning held on the first Wednesday of the month followed by a light lunch.
Crazy Whist is a fun afternoon that sees friends from out of town come and join in the fun at 1.30 the second Saturday of the month
The last Saturday of the month we have an outreach of a dinner and activity called “come as you are”.
At Finley Regional Care we take a Communion Service twice a month at the conclusion we share morning tea and fellowship with the Residents.
Once a quarter we have a hymn sing a long where we enjoy a time of singing with others.
The Finley worship centre also has a facebook page of inspirations and prayer points.
