Kids Camp Out (KCO) is a 24 hour Presbytery camp for primary school children. 12 people from Wagga attended including 5 adult leaders, 2 trainee teenage leaders, and 5 children. Some were camping for the first time. About 70 children and leaders came from across the Riverina for the 24 hour camp at Narrandera Race Course on 25/26 March 2017.
Luke 10’s focus was used for KCO—Loving God, Loving Others, Loving yourself. As the photos show, KCO was full of games, singing, Bible talks/groups, craft, and camping in tents. A circus theme was also present in some games. We even had clowns who helped explain how ‘loving’ requires practice as it doesn’t come easily …. just like tight rope walking doesn’t come easy and clowns need to practice!
Kids Camp Out is held each year in March at the Narrandera Racecourse. Many of our Uniting Church congregations across the Riverina have been involved over many years. Despite lower numbers than last year we had a very successful camp again this year. We had a fun-filled 24 hours and it was wonderful to see the children being involved in all aspects of the camp as we explored the theme of The Balancing Act and Jesus commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind and love our neighbours as ourselves. Our special visitors Buffy and Buster the clowns were a big hit.
